Is Your Morning Routine Setting You Up For Success?

If you're a busy woman like me, your day is jam packed.  Work, kids, family functions, to-do lists, keeping up on the house, laundry, errands, school activities, sports...oh and let's not forget simply taking care of ourselves and eating.  It's a lot to juggle...and we somehow, someway manage to do it all.

This doesn't mean that every day goes smooth as silk.  I mean, not even close some days.  This can be such a defeating feeling...if we let it.  There are ways that we can look at a day like this differently, so that we don't let it get us down and inevitably see it as opportunity to re-align in a more positive way moving forward.  And at the same time, I have come to realize that there are also ways that we can truly take action to set ourselves up for success. 

One of these ways, is by having a grounding & soul boosting morning routine.  A morning routine that rejuvenates, revives, allows you to fall deeper into your skin, and fills you up with so much nourishment and goodness that nothing can stand in your way of unstoppable success.  Success in staying on the path that is right for YOU and your journey.  Being able to make decision quickly, to know the right situations and people to surround ourselves with, to steer clear of distraction, and to be quick on our feet when issues arise (because they are inevitable).

A morning routine that includes activities such as these.


•Wake up with positive vibes. 

As you begin to wake up, before you even open your eyes, visualize love and energy pouring through your body.  Feel excitement for the opportunity to have another day…AND for the opportunities to follow your desires (the possibilities are endless ladies.  And each day gets you one step closer)   When I do this, I literally feel my body tingling (as opposed to tight and creaky).  This may sound a bit cheesy, especially if you're used to waking up dreading the day.  So if you're reading this thinking. 'She's totally out of her mind,' then take this piece of advice...fake it until you make it.  Give it a chance...every day...until one day you wake up and feel the goodness.


And, if you're able to (meaning kids are still sleeping & not climbing on you or begging for something to eat) try meditation. These are my favorite guided meditation apps --> insight timer and headspace.


•Fuel your body.

Have a nutrient dense breakfast --> such as Eggs in Sweet Potato Nests (Tip: make on Sunday and have breakfast ready for 5 days!)

And if you're a coffee drinker, drink your coffee --> I'm obsessed with this Healthy Coffee Recipe  (I literally fall asleep dreaming about it)


•Get your mind right.

As you are getting ready, get that confidence raised girl!  Fill your mind with positive thoughts.  These can be affirmations, mantras, or simply words that make you fill good and light you up.  Often times we use this precious time alone to either self sabotage with thoughts of self doubt and worry, or we consume our brains with endless to-do's and find ourselves in a state of overwhelm (before the day has even begun).  The outside world has enough of these vibes already.  The best thing you can do for your inner peace and self confidence, is to step into your power and tell yourself things like...

The world needs my light

My possibilities are endless

I am a powerful creator. I create the life I want.

I am optimistic. I believe everything always works out for the best.

I inhale confidence and exhale fear.

I am flexible. I adapt to change quickly.

I am calm and peaceful.

My life happens with ease.


Why? Because they are true!!  And that negative voice so wrong!  When you do this, you are reprogramming your subconscious mind to naturally think this way (the truth).  And therefore you ultimately go through your day feeling this way (again, the truth)... So that you can align with your inner TRUTH and see every opportunity and decision that needs to be made with clarity and with the least amount of resistance.  The negative chatter that runs through your head blocks you from seeing the next right step...and blocks you from seeing the endless opportunities that are in front of you every. Single. Day.


•Set your intention.  

What goal(s) are you working on?  What circumstance are you faced with, and determined to get yourself out of?  What area(s) of your life are you needing guidance.  This doesn’t take long and can even be done on your drive to work, when you’re eating breakfast, or after you drop the kiddos off.  Bring your spirituality into your daily life because after all, believing that you are doing this all in your own is resistance in itself.  Believe.  Trust.  Live with intention.

Often times my intention sounds like this...’show me how I can be of service to those around me’.  This allows me to stay focused on my purpose and how I need to show up for my family and my clients.


•A few other activities I like to add into my morning routine for grounding effects (decreasing anxiety, allowing me to sink deeper into my own skin, and opening myself up to a clear head to start the day)
